"The Weather Service Rig; The Thor was resting at Rossington Docks [capital of Southern Mars] and its Captain: Picasso Jones waited for two replacement officers; a new Ensign and Medical Officer. The previous pair had left the rig; one had been promoted and the other retired. Then with a full crew compliment, the Thor would head out onto the Martian surface for Weather Station 3(S) to complete routine maintenance. That was the rig and crews job; keeping the Martian weather stations up and running; whatever the weather! This starts their story..."

"The Thor has arrived at Weather Station 3(S) and started the routine maintenance but Bella (the Weather Expert) warns the captain that a Category 3 storm will roll over them soon. The service has to abandoned and the crew will 'baton down the hatches' on the Thor and sit it out. But whilst laying out the essential 'Lightening canisters' on the surface, Frankie the Chef is injured. But quick thinking by the new Ensign saves his life. It becomes apparent to the Captain and the crew; that's there more to the young Ensign than meets the eye."

A distress call has been picked up and the Thor is to investigate. But there is no urgency; the signal was started nearly a century ago! Nevertheless, the Thor arrives on scene and discovers there is some real mystery concerning the body which has lain in the dust for nearly a hundred years."

But out on 'Routine Duties' they receive an emergency call during a massive eruption of the 'Bingo Houseman' volcano. Jones leads a rescue party in the 'sand-cat' not realising that the bloody volcano hasn't finished yet!"

Then the rig 'The New Argonaut' simply disappears in the mountain foothills. But the storm is now a serious and deadly Category 1. The Thor's crew have to take to the lifeboats and then the Thor is struck."

The rig 'The New Argonaut' is still missing and Jones must face a Board of Inquiry for the damage to the Thor."
